Brave Moving Pictures: Girl Rising

In celebration of October's International Day of the Girl Child, The Brave Coalition in partnership with Women in Security and Regis University's College of Computer and Information Sciences will host an unforgettable evening focused on the powerful film "Girl Rising.” Directed by Academy Award Nominee Richard E. Robbins, and featuring the moving words of prize-winning authors and the voices of renound actors, the film spotlights the unforgettable stories of girls living in the developing world. Its message is simple: "Educate a girl, change the word." This event will weave the stories from the film with live panelists who can speak to the barriers facing women, inspiring and challenging attendees to work to create a better world for girls, women, and everyone. 

Tickets are available by clicking HERE. The $15 entrance fee includes one glass of wine and will benefit The Brave Coalition to offset our 501(c)(3) costs and support future community programming. If you cannot attend, we encourage buying a gift ticket to allow another person to attend in your place. We also encourage donations to the Girl Rising Foundation.

**Please note that Girl Rising is rated PG-13 for mature content. There is no violence, nudity, or inapropriate language but there are some difficult themes and images.

Brave Moving Pictures: Surviving Skokie and Q&A with Jack Adler

Join us for a special community screening of the documentary Surviving Skokie, followed by a powerful Q&A session with Holocaust survivor and the main subject of the film, Jack Adler. Surviving Skokie is a story about a group of courageous men and women who survived the horrors of the Holocaust only to face virulent anti-Semitism in America. A post-film discussion will feature Jack Adler, a survivor whose testimony is a guiding light in the promotion of justice and respect among all people. This event will also feature The Whole Truth Booth, a mobile storytelling platform.

Brave Moving Pictures: Being Enye Screening with Mayor Michael Hancock

“being ñ” is a powerful story about being first-generation Latino and living between two worlds. Join us for the unforgettable ñ Experience, an engaging 90-minute presentation that combines a screening of the “being ñ” documentary infused with directors cut-style commentary from the film’s star and co-director Denise Soler Cox. Denise leads the audience on a powerful journey of cultural self-discovery and personal reflection. The result is a heartfelt, humorous, and interactive program that offers a refreshing perspective on how to talk about culture and the feelings we all share around acceptance. 

Post-screening we will host a dynamic discussion with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock.
